dont bother with that, try leads and plugs first. then if still doing it will most likely be the coil pack. had the same thing the other week and was the coils.
do u find its misfiring when u accellerate?

what its doing is when i nail it it is fine untill 3000rpm, breaks up and misses untill 3500rpm then revs fine after that..

Firstly fix the coolant leak.

I know the dizzys in all other models ground to the engine by the dizzy body touching the block. When it gets wet.. No more gound, dizzy not work so good... Might be a similar situation.

Maybe clean out the plug and fill it with grease again..

hrm, with the coolent leak it appears to be leaking from the thermostat housing, so i'm guessing its not sealing properly, may have warped with heat? It was pissing out coolant today from the overflow pipe, weird thing is though i only filled it up thus morning because the coolent light came on, half the day later it decides to pour out then???

Just to clear things up, the 'thing' you are looking at is the "Camshaft Position Sensor".

The Crank Position Sensor is located behind and above the Harmonic Balancer.

AFAIK it controls the ignition timing by sending a signal to the ECU when #1 cylinder is approaching TDC based on the position of the camshaft & info from the Crankshaft Position Sensor. It does this in much the same way as a normal distributor does.

Well the Crank Angle Sensor tells the ECU what angle the crank is at in relation to No. 1 cylinder (piston) "TDC" but that could be TDC on either the Exhaust stroke OR on the Compression stroke (the one wanted for setting timing) - so that Cam Position or Cam "Phase" sensor tells the ECU when it's on the Compression stroke.

Crank rotates thru 2 revolutions for one complete cycle -ie. the piston cycles up and down twice for one complete cycle.

Complete cycle = 4 events = intake-compression-power-exhaust

The cam rotates once for each complete cycle - ie. cam rotates at half the speed of the crank.

In the case of a dizzy ignition the dizzy rotates at the same speed as the cam (ie/ half crank speed or once every two crank rotations) and the Cam Position Sensor is driven just the same as a Dizzy.

highly unlikey, chances are you coils are on the way out, there on 3 of them firing 2 sparks each. its hard to say wich one, but it wouldnt make a diff anyway cos u cant fix them just replace them.

If a lot of coolant is coming out of the overflow, it could be your head gaskit. Pressure from the cylinders could be entering your coolant system and forcing the coolant out.
Maybe fix the thermostat housing first and see if it happens again.
