well, 148hp is 110kw. So yes, as a rough guide this would be correct assuming a 25% loss through drivetrain.

i dont know were peolpe get the figure of 20 to 30 % loss through the drive train this is untrue its 12 to 15 % depending on condition i know this as my friend of many years has just had the only full digital dyno in australia installed by dyno dynamics here in brisbane through years of racing and mechanical work and experience. so maybe some of the technical operators of these dynos should pull there heads in. this is not a slur aganst anyone that has posted here its just people are missinformed.

how come you posted all my details? lol

black xr6, that';s true for most manual cars, automatic torque converters rob a bit of power though.

soulfire i agree to a point my car isnt that young and auto i lost 12% and as was said before it comes down to tech and condition. others will just have a one track mind and will never accept anything.and i hope you have cars that dont lose any more than 12. :D

12% power loss.
I'm sure your mate knows what he's doing, but you're kidding me right?
So every other dyno operator in the country is basically doing the wrong thing then?
If i car came out of the factory with 200kw, you wouldn't be able to find a dyno that would give its power at the wheels at anywhere near 176kw.
Even if its manual.

you have to remember who wants to get you to spend your money .you are going to a place were when you walk in the door they want your money and i am not saying this is a hundred percent for every car.my car is rated at 172 kw at the fly and i only lost around 12% the car is in immac condition and was not dynoed by my friend so i cant say any more than wat the experts assured me.

Back when I was a young tacker  drivetrain losses used to be 33%. The change has come about because transmissions/gearboxes and diffs etc have become far more efficient at delivering flywheel hp to the rear wheels.

Any way for the record my EB S-Pak at 300 000k with an xh snorkel and no fan delivered 100.5rwkw.

How do you know that dyno wasn't spitting out inflated figures?

Realistically though, would you expect your AU with 150rwkw would keep up with another AU, that has a Cam, exhaust, headers, etc that would definately be reading lower on any dyno you could take it to.
I don't know whether i agree on whether the dyno operators are trying to get you to spend extra cash there. I can get the same readings as a dyno operator who only works on Holdens.

But as long as you're happy with what 'they' say you're power levels are, then it's all good.
I've never heard of a stock Falcon 6 pulling 130rwkw, XR on not.
Headers and exhaust will realistically only give them about that kinda power at the wheels. Then they'd still be 20rwkw down on your AU's figure.
