black xr6, that';s true for most manual cars, automatic torque converters rob a bit of power though.

But they multiply torque up until they reach stall :)

steady ed i know because i have had it dynoed twice second time at my mates shop figures wer within 1.5 kw. one other thing to watch for is at the bottom of the dyno sheet is air temp vs intake temp .If air intake is 20 degrees your intake temp should be within 2 degrees or maximum within five reason for this is that air intake temperature not wat the temp of the intake manifold is because this also can give you generous or not so generous kw figures depending on how the correction factor of the dyno is set. plus you have a bloddy great fan infront your car there should be very little difference. the only reason i am posting this is to make people a little more aware of wat they should be looking for. :D

the f**k cares about dyno figures anyway? they're all relative to whatever s**t dyno you're using.
the strip doesn't discriminate, wanna talk about how your car goes, go get a timeslip.

^^ very true, power means little, too many factors. Dragging is the practical outcome of your cars power and ability to harness it. However this is a power thread and it still is of interest to see what mods have done for people.

I'm not having a go at blackxr6, but the two dyno's he's been on, seem to be the only one's showing big numbers. But the thousands of others in the country are all line and ball.
It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out the percentage of how many dyno's are wrong.
Eevn the Car magazines get the new cars dyno tested, and they're all around the same figure. The highest one i think was the GTP, and that pulled like 220rwkw, from 290 and the fly. The 300kw Commodores pulled slightly less...

thanks for your views guys i accept all of them and understand were you are all coming from i actually build trucks for a living and i can tell you if you knew half of wat went on whilst these are being built as far as swapping of newer parts instead of the standard builld pattern goes because of parts shortages ,you would acually freak right out so i would think that car companys wouldnt be to far off either .this is some of the reason they are called wednesday vehicles 8-)

Nice... been waiting to hear what you were getting for that blower marty. Chuck an intercooler on, up the boost, you'll be laughing. Well I bet youre laughing now...

will go thu if anyone else has asked this question, but what benifit would an intercooler be on a supercharged v8?

and to stay on topic, EL fairmont... stock power with a screwed auto box... so not much.

Well it would have the exact same effect an intercooler would have on a turbo. it cools down the compressed air before it goes into your engine, which mean more air mass into the cylinders. More air means you can put in more fuel = more power... Altho i think if you have one of the screw-type superchargers, you might have a little trouble fitting an intercooler?
