My mate used to go thru cables all the times cause of extractors etc... get an AU heat sheild and chuck that on ya extractors.. (Au sheild is flexible and you can work with it.)

or wrap ya new cable in a heat resistance material...

Yea thats the plan! But i've had extractors before, And it has never done it before? I wouldn't really think the 4480's would cause more heat?? Or am i wrong?

Is the timing out or the engine running too lean.

2 things that would make the extractors hotter than normal.

Retarded timing will have fuel still burning in the exhaust instead of in the cylinder = red hot exhaust.

I used to have this problem with my EB Saloon Car. We put a heat proof cover over the cable and also cable tied the cable to the firewall so it was away from the extractors as far as possible and haven't changed a cable since :D
