thanks guys, thats good news. Does anyone know if there was a bigger radiator optional in these models, such as when a big tow pack was fitted, or for people living in the tropics (like 20 years ago when it was optional?)

if the car is a xr or police pack or was fitted with a hd tow pack
there should be trans cooler infront of the radiator but that is for the transmission ...

read throu the description on this link why 2 row core radiator are more superior then a thicker one. 2 row heavy duty radiator on ebay.

ford sell three different radiators for the el's,
el 6 $220
el 8 $280
el high output v8, el gt, fbt. $320

they were the prices i got abt 6 months back.

the genuine 6 and 8 radiators will bolt up in either car but the 8 is a thicker radiator.

the aftermarket ones are all the same for 6 and 8 and auto/manual, just don't use the auto cooler in manual, as far as i know.

beleive it or not they have different prices but they have the same part number!
but last year i was quoted $700 for the v8 radiator and $400 for the 6 from ford..my mate who works in spare parts showed me the part number and it was the same
the price depended on the car type!
i know the std v8 and 6 are the same radiator but im not sure about the gt one??

i got a aftermarket one for $200 and never looked back...
