Hey guys , ive allways wanted to ask what speed you guys can hit in first gear.

My EL falcon hits 90 before it starts to redline and i have to change to second.

i remember my xf falcon just made 60 in first gear.

How come the first gear is so streched out?

With power on it shifts at around 70 thats around 4800 i think, i havn't manually shifted from first to second. But she does rev up quick, she'd have no problem going off the dial! On both dials to be correct

The 4.0L I6 (ford's bread and butter engine) has s**t of torque so is well suited to a lazy gearbox and diff. Bad news for us, considering the commodores of the time has shorter gearing as the V6 needed a bit of encouragement to make its power.

Yeah mine'll do bit under 90 in 1st (3.23 diff on a V8)
