G'day.
When installing an aftermarket head unit, the factory head unit brackets obviously dont fit to the new unit. So it was a case of modifying the factory ones to fit. Doe anyone know if there are brackets you can buy to suit head units for EF/EL installations, or if there is an easier way of doing this? Feedback from other owners of EF/EL vehicles who have installed aftermarket units and how they achieved this will be helpful. Thanks. |

In the past I've always jamed the factory brackets inbetween the new headunit and that ring bracket peice that comes with the new unit, it's very snug and doesn't move.
When I installed my Pioneer DVD thingo I found that one of the holes on the headunit lined up with the bracket, so I just drilled the hole bigger and single machien screw holding each side in place. Lines up find and very snug. |

I made my own brackets up. Just bend some light gauge steel into two angle brackets.
Other members have used the factory brackets and drilled new holes into them.

Yep using the factory brackets with a bit of modifying works well. Drilling and bending
