Attachment: File comment: Two upper and one lower studs only accessible from behind. I am wanting to access the loom side connector for the audio control module. I need to run new speaker wiring from the back of the plug as there is a intermittent short in the left channel which is damaging the audio control module. Is there any way of accessing the plug without having to strip out the entire dash. I have all the gear for replacing the female side of the pins and pin out diagrams for the location of the speaker pins. From what I can see it that the is a bracket bolted from behind holding the female side of the connector in place in support of the plastic retaining tabs. The nuts for the bracket can only be accessed from behind and the lower one is recessed so that it can't be seen or felt. Has anyone ever accessed this plug without removing the entire dash? Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, not sure re FG but the BA/BF can have issues with the dash connector at the back of the ICC [white connector] as due to the vibrations of over 20 years this can damage/break the solder joints at the circuit board [internal] where the pins enter. this may/may not be your issue?.
good luck |
