I've the exact same speakers,
I put the tweeters on opposite side of the mirrors and the crossover lives under the arm rest (minus their housing) I self tapped them there to avoid water and condensation.

Hmmm, well I guess I have black mirror covers inside, so the tweeters and their black housing might look good there maybe. Have to have a ponder.
Might just keep the crossovers inside the cabin near the passenger and driver footwells so I don't have to worry about water/condesation at all.

Think about the wiring and electrics already in the door, it's not an issue, put the cross overs in there so that it saves on wiring and there out of the way. As for putting the tweeters in the factory location, it's not the best location at all, much better on the sails. As for using the -3dB, put it on which ever to begin with, then adjust it if necesary - it has to sound good to your ears, not mine! |

JUst got the same set of splits and got one side installed yesterday. I ended up putting the tweeter on the door sail thing mainly cause I couldn't find where the wiring from the head unit splits to go to the tweeter and door speaker. You might need to use a spacer on the speaker too, i just used an old plastic bit i had around maybe 2-3mm thick. I mounted the cross over on the inside of the door inbetween the power window tract and bolted it to the door. Ill try and get you some pics later on

just tuck the crossovers up under the dash till, i just zip tied mine to some random wiring loom. to just under the carpet in the footwells near the firewall.

Hey Gaz, I did end up putting the crossovers inside the cabin, but kind of behind the dash and below where the stereo sits. Just sitting on the carpet for now, where the centre console would usually hide it.
Thanks for the help lads, install was finished without a hitch.

If you are running the tweeters in the factory spots you may want to try running the tweeters at full power not -3dB, as the factory grille that covers them is quite restrictive.

By the way the door trims are in but I didn't end up using the black parts as my dash is grey.....

Yeah they sound good thanks, clearer than the factory ones and just better sound quality. I'm happy with the purchase.

Hmmm, I found that -3db was best because with them firing at the windscreen they seem to get so much brighter and louder. |

I guess it all depends on the efficiency of the woofers but I generally use the treble control instead of the attenuator on the crossovers....
