ha ha nice.

your install looks good mate, came up really well. my only question is, how do you get to the spare wheel? your floor looks to be solid.

I cut a piece of carpet the exact shape of the floor. (not hard when the floor ended up being a nice perfect rectangle :D ) and that just sits in there nice and snug but isn't stuck down. I can remove the carpet and get to the removable panel underneath. You can see the design on page 7 of this post. Very simple... Very practicle :D Done in 2 days... My kind of mod 8-)

dude, i wouldnt be advertising you have sony gear... :P

i cant stand sony explod. the americial sony mobile (competition series) are desent but id never touch our sony's.

my install at the moment is
kenwood mp3 headunit
kenwood 5 1/2 splits in factory door mounts running hertz crossovers and tweeters mounted in the fairmont ghia positions up in the dash
rear splits are bitsa's panasonic slimline woofers, axis tweeters and kenwood crossovers
amp is a MTX monoblock
and a kicker solobaric 12 inch sub.

last night i went out and bought some new 6.5" JBL 2 ways for rear fill, and 2 12 inch MTX subs and in a few weeks i get my new amps, jaycar 1500wrms monoblock for the subs and a 100wrms x4 channel amps.

the boot install will hopefully blow your minds... a bit "showy" but i thorght why not. im sick of rushing my boot installs so this one im taking my time and doing it right.

very plain right now but will get better

Those downlights came up a treat.

I've got a set of LED spotlights being mounted in the same spot when I get stuck into my install.

I've got one of those two. Mounted close to the battery though.

@cookiemonster, do you have anything fuse/breaker located closer to the battery (assuming you've still got it up front)?

yes i have a directed audio 250A fuse block next to my battery, so the only time itll blow is if the cable shorts to the car body, cos the fuses are bloody expensive, the idea is the breaker should trip before the fuse blows

Some of those installs are very neat, other's are nice and stealth, all in all good work there guys! I especially like the practicle installs where you can get to the spare & factory jack easily.

Makes me wanna do something about my boot, i've got a board on the right side with my amp mounted to it, and my sub box just strapped into the lpg tank atm. It could be a lot better. Been thinking about it a bit, i reckon i have an idea on how to tidy my boot up and also get a bit of space for a few tools as well.

I've got too many other projects on teh go  , so this is something i'll just plan for now i think.

Cheers

does it sound better for the sub to be facing the seat or facing the boot?

Mine is facing into the boot but honestly I reckon it would sound better facing the bak of the seat... provided your seat isn't rattly.
