If you look hard enough you will get Alpine Type R 12's for around $275 each.

They are THE SUB

Digital Design subs...the bomb diggedy. Though I believe you only need one 12" sub. It'll be sufficient enough. But also at a cost...maybe $500 per sub. That's for quality if you just want one sub to do the same job as 2 x average subs.

If not, Type-R's are good and so are Kicker. Pro series JL subs are also good. (JL...not JBL)

$275 isn't too bad for a decent 12" sub. When you look at Digital Design (DD) subs...$350 will get you a nice 8" subs. I think 12" are in the $500 bracket for the DD subs.

Sorry but you're all wrong!

Soundstream T4 or T5 subs are definitely best bang for buck. Dual 2ohm voice coil, 900WRMS and a crap load of other awesome specs. They look awesome too lol

You should be able to pick them up for about $300ea brand new.

You really can't go past them for the price.

I'm biased though :D

He may as well stick with the Kenwoods mate... The Kicker Comps are s**t. They look pretty and sound good at low volume but once you crank them they lose quality and punch and just start to sound like a fat guy f@rt. Not to mention they're only about 150WRMS each so would be pointless with a 1500WRMS amp.

here here - I'm another fan of the Type-Rs for the money their SPL/SQ outputs are awesome for their price range....soundstreams are also very mentionable in that price range...

Also for those who think $300 is a bit much for a sub....$300 is cheap as in the scheme of things whn you start getting serious...

For those who also praise brands like clarion , kenwood, sony etc have you heard anything else? You buy a $150 kenwood/sony xplode sub and think they pump then listen to an xpert series soundstream , DD, Pioneer SPL series he list goes on but when talkin serius output and quality kenwood etchave been out of the game for a long time like sony are only in the budget end of the market now....can't compare em.thats just my 2 cents
