Hey all,
Just wondering what you guys think of installing a VU meter into a 1995 EF Fairmont, would it look good or would it be too over the top - rice? Lol. Anyways its just an idea and would go well with my blue led dash ![]() To match the woodgrain shifter surround panel im thinking of getting a woodgrain radio/ashtray surround from a Fairlane/LTD but it had premium sound with the double-din unit so if i fit my current headunit, it'll have a gap there below it. I was thinking of filling it up with something like this one below.. ![]() What are your opinions on this? Or could i fill the gap with something better? |

Fill the gap with a pocket which is included in the single din surround. Alot more pratical than a VU meter. If fitting a single din surround you have to use the single din headunit brackets.

Cheers joolz, i dont know how i didnt think to bring that into consideration. The current pocket i have with my fairmont surround certainly is useful for my sunnies, very practical!!
![]() Is the pocket removeable though? By the looks of it, its part of the surround. Or did the woodgrain surround have a removeable pocket? If i could find a woodgrain surround with the single din and pocket id be a very happy man ![]() |

The pocket is moulded as part of the surround.
You could however use a universal DIN pocket. Or just get a Double DIN unit, they are sex. |
