ideally you would want something that puts out 700-1000rms
is the sub single or dual voice coil?

Yeah you will definately need a decent monoblock amp thats for sure! I would suggest Alpine monoblocks or JL audio or Audiobahn and so forth they make some really good quality monoblocks and will give the Sub the power it needs to pump the decibels :)

Pretty pricey thou :(

if its dual 4ohm you want a monoblock amp that makes it power at 2ohms, if its dual 2ohm you want a monoblock that makes it power at 1ohm

ooooooor u can run 2 monoblock amps 2 it, one on each coil :D haha that shud crank it, just make sure u polarise it correctly otherwise the cone wont move :S ... dont laugh ive seen it done, not the most efficient way i must add, but a definate attention catcher

I would use a single monoblock rated to drive 1ohm loads. The Jaycar one is your cheapest bet with over 800rms @ 1ohm.

Plenty of other manufacturers make monoblocks too.

Earthquake
Alpine (good amps although pretty expensive for the power)
Kenwood
JBL
Kicker
Digital Designs (DDm1)
