And a couple 'o hundred bucks worth of wiring.

Ever thought about splits up front? Nonetheless, that system would pump!

It's not too bad for a basic system. I have two alpine 4" 2 way coaxials left over from my EB XR, you reckon i could adapt the system to include these up the front of the car (to make BIG splits)? Would it be too much load on the amp? :?

This is in my AU Ute:

Headunit Alpine CDA 7998

Front Stage

Boston Pro 8inch subs
Boston Pro 6.5 drivers
Boston Pro 1inch tweeters
SoundStream Class A 5.2 amp Driving 8inch mid bass
SoundStream Class A 6.4 amp Driving 6.5 and tweets
Kicker 3way Active Crossovers

Subwoofer

12inch AdireAudio Brahma
Xtant 1001 mono amp

Your looking at almost 9k worth of equipment and then the install. The costum door pods for the 3way system cost almost $1500.

Sounds Unbelievable!!!!!!!!

hey, yeah so atm ive got a nice older head unit, only cost $800(brand new), it is a pioneer 4x40watt headunit, its got lotsa different settings, namely the x-bass setting, lol, it kills the poor 6 inches, theyre pioneer 6inch 120 watters in the back, and the standard 6 inches in the back!!!

ah, and every now and then, when u crank it hard, it will blow the 3amp fuse, cos it pumps to hard, i still dont know howq i blow a 3amp fuse so easy lol.

anyway, so here is the new sound system im gunna be putting into it, unless u reccomend something better for the same price!!!

ok,

1. a boss 4 channel 1000watt amp which powers....
2. 2, 6x9 pioneer 400watters(for rear)
3. 2, pioneer 6 inch 220watters(for front)
.............................................

now the bass....

1. a boss 4 channel, 400watt sub (with crossover) powering a....
2. a jensen 450watt 10 inch sub ("Long excursion suspension for deep clear base. ...")

or, i think idd prefer this.

1 boss 4 channel 1000watt amp (with crossovers)....powering

using 2 channels of the amp crossed to power each of 2 jensen 450watt 10 inches (these jensens are no laughing matter, the wattage is not that big, but dont be fooled, these are nice lil bass crunchers, and remember, im not a hoon, this is only for reallly clear, loud noise!!!!!

prices are below:

1. boss 4 channel 1000watt amp $189
2. pioneer 400watt 6x9's $270 a pair
3. pioneer 220watt 6 inch $169
4. jensen 450watt 10 inch sub $69
5. boss audio 400watt 4-channel amp $129

all up for the single sub setup im looking at $830 (if i fit it)

thats also leaving the current pioneer head unit in there.

so....yeah!!, have fun!!!

any suggestion??

better suggestion
Fronts: Alpine Type S 6.5" splits - $250 a pair
Rears: Stock
Amplification: Coustic 481QE 4 X 870WRMS - $400
Sub: JL 12W0 - ~$200

$850 for a setup that is higher quality, and would sound significantly better.
also, set at least another $100 aside for wiring and materials for a box

6X9's are a waste of time if your going to be buying a sub. 6x9's are made for people who want more bass, but don't want a sub. why bother then?!

also, you can't bridge a 4 channel amp to 1 channel to run a sub, just a little advice kiddo

Mostly Sony gear as I got it all at sweet sweet prices...

1x Sony CDX-V7800X MP3/CD/VCD/SVCD/FM HU 4x50W, powers rears
1x Sony XM754SX 4x170W amp, powers fronts and subs
2x Cadence 10" subs (used to be Sony 10" but they both died mysteriously just out of warranty) in Sony sealed boxes
4x Sony 6" 3-way coaxials, front and rear in existing door/rear parcel shelf mounting positions.
