My g/f's badges were stolen off her AU XR^. BOught replacement ones form ex harrison ford. The new ones are plastic, but i was sure the originals were backed with metal?
Went there and asked them for a refund as i was after genuine ones, and they told me the plastic ones were genuine?? Anyone know bit more? |

I have not seen a car since the 70's that has had metal badges, sorry mate. |

everyone i speak too says they are metal backed. I even have some stuck on my front calipers, and from what i remember they were metal. Cos if they were plastic i wouldnt have stuck them there cos they would have melted?

well??
i got 6 genuine ones 4 from ford and 2 from a ed xr6 and they are all plastic.. if ford say they are plastic well they must be plastic!! even the one on the front of the au vct engine appears to be plastic... |

i have one right infront of me, from an AUIII XR8, and im holding it upside down stuck to a magnet. i can upload a pic if no one believes me

i think its the chrome bits inside the badge, that the white, red etc is painted on. the back of the badge itself is a think layer of plastic, and the magnet will only stick to the back of the badge, not the front.
