hi all, when i start my car my brakes light come on, they stay on all the time, anyone had this issue before or can point me in the direction of what may be wrong? they are on whether the headlights are on or not, any help appreciated, thanks in advance

is it when you start the car? or when you turn the ignition on?
if it's the later i believe your brake light switch is stuck on giving the brake lights constant power when the ignition is on

yep. brake light switch is stuck closed. giving straight power with ignition. time to replace it

Non genuine are only about $10.
Not hard to replace, just fiddly. At the top of you brake pedal you'll find it, unplug it then remove the small clip on the side and remove the pin. Replace is the reverse. Don't lose the plastic bush

where can i get the non genuine ones from? and anyone got a pic of what im looking for?

Repco, burson etc. Ef-EL brake light switch. I've got one lying around at home somewhere.
