Im on holidays at the moment, and my sleeping patterns are all over the shop but im surprised that my post made as much sense as it did. yeah this thread is full of great info i love it.

I will be doing it by hand. thanks for this I prefer to buy a kit from someone who knows what they are doing over someone who just runs a register at the auto shop who needs to read the back of labels whenever i ask a question, I'll send you a pm at the end of next week, (pay day) so i can get you the cash :D and then i can get to making my ride all shiny!! YAY

I will post pics once i have done it

OK cool no dramas. I've been in similar situation
I was living the vampire shift for three months when I was in between jobs

Would go to bed at 6 am and get up at 2pm but not go outside until dark

hey
i once got told when i had my car in a all ford day by an old blokem what i was
meant to rub into my vinyl covered roof to protect it from cracking fading and stainging
and the likes.
but tht was nearly six months ago he told me, and it has somehow slipped my mind
, lolso i was wondering guys, what do u recmoned for me to rub into my roof?

i have been using a product called "formula 1 prtectant vinyl rubber
plastic", its in a yellow bottle that i buoght from supercheap. a mate
from newcastle put me onto it. he was rubbing it onto his hardcover touneau
on his vp ute, i rub it into my soft tounaeu on my XG now and have tried
it on my vinyl roof on my fairlane and i dont think its really working that well

so yer, if anyone has any idea's, any tried and true methods, i would appreciate
it if you could help me out as i dont wanna see my roof detoriate as its
in immaculate condition for a 33 year old car.

thanks

Formula 1 is ok but for best results I recommend either renovo or raggtopp products

See detailersparadise.com for renovo and autogeek.net or danase.com for raggtopp

Worth their cost. Nothing else protects best. It's all I use.

Hi again my fellow ford fans.

here is my latest washing and drying technique. It will make that job ultra easy and seriously cut down the swirling and marring you get from doing that by 99.5%

Whether you wash at home or at a car wash by hand doesn't matter

Home - use a gilmour or weed and feed trigger spray that attaches to the hose (aka a foam gun)

Fill the gun with 50/50 shampoo and purified or rainwater.
Connect to hose

Turn on hose to about medium pressure and soak the car in shampoo solution and suds.

Turn off tap

have one or two buckets filled with warm water and shampoo

use as many sheepskin or microfibre wash mitts as you can
Regardless of how dirty your car is, even if it's just mild, do not scrub

Dunk first mitt into bucket and add some shampoo to it
Wring the mitt well over the bonnet

Re dunk and add a bit more shampoo to mitt
use really gentle side to side motions or blot/pat the mitt onto the panel, turning over the mitt when you have done half the panel

Change to a new mitt after every two panels (your choice)
Do not wash the bottom of the doors until last

Re apply suds to the car with the foam gun if necessary
I use around six to ten mitts but these are high quality mitts that I got wholesale

Once you have completed washing, rinse the shampoo off the car using a low pressure rinse with a hose with no attachment

Turn tap off. Spray your favourite quick detailing spray onto the whole car and wait for up to two minutes

Do a final rinse with the hose again, sheeting the water off

using a waffle weave microfibre towel, fold it once, twice or three times and blot dry the glass first and then bonnet, roof, boot and doors
If you notice the undried panels beginning to dry or water spot, spray the quick detailer onto those areas.

Turn over towel to a dry or cleaner section often.
You will notice that the blot drying will not cause micro marring or swirl marks and the drying will be faster thanks to the spray.
Your detail spray application is now already done and you do not need to do it on the dry car which is always a little harder.

Car wash

With your car previously polished and sealed with polymer, acrylic or other paint sealant or wax, park your dirty car in a bay

Add one or two dollars and choose the soap option
Is either an orange coloured button or will say high pressure soap or high pressure hot soap

Submerge the car in this soap completely but keep the pressure washer gun moving and don't aim it directly at the paint, as I've stated before, use a side on stance and slide the water across the body (stops impact scratches and marring)

Once that is done, chuck in a dollar and choose high pressure rinse (yellow coloured button) or will state high pressure rinse
Remove all the shampoo from the body in same manner as before

When your time runs out, spray your quick detail spray onto the whole car, leave for up to two minutes and do a low pressure spot free rinse

Move to undercover drying and vacuuming bay or dry the car in the bay
Blot dry the car with the microfibre towel until totally dry.
Use a chamois or a different towel for the door jambs

Today I did my mothers territory and within ten blots with a waffle weave towel, the bonnet was bone dry

Do that for twenty washes and compare yours against your mates cars and you will see an amazing difference.
Yours is gleeming with only tiny baby swirls or even swirl free and theirs will be marred either medium or heavily and will have medium to heavy swirling and possible spider webbing

I'm planning on doing a serious of short videos with my moms killer digital camera and post on you tube shortly
Will keep you all posted on that.

Happy motoring

Yes it is going to be great leaving my car at home in the garage and be working somewhere else

Hopefully sooner rather than later I can do some instructional videos and put on DVD for all of you

I'm very pleased to announce the addition of Driven to Perfection car detail products of california is joining the DM product line up very soon

The brand's flagship product is the revolutionary Quick spray concentrate that cleans, brightens, enhances and seals all but fabrics on a car and when used by machine, will take the paint's wet look past what has been possible before.
It lightly polishes windows and chrome, can be used after final polishing to enhance the paint, boosts any sealant that you have on the paint and glass, is a quick detailer for wheels, safely cleans interior vinyl without stripping it back to a flat and dull look.
It's other uses including polish pad conditioner, clay lubricant, drying aid to make the paint dry 99 % spot free by itself after spraying it on and rinsing off two minutes later.

My next test of it will be adding it to your shampoo and water solution in a bucket, a foam gun and in the washing machine to condition and keep the softness to all microfibre towels and buffing pads
Dilute it as strong or as weak as you like. Totally free of any caustic alkalines, ammonia, alcohol, butyl, sodium, phosphates or other harsh cleaning chemicals.

Along with that product, the auto polish/one year sealant is a remarkable product. It polishes EA to BF falcon wiper arms by hand to a wet lustre and seals them. Will polish any kind of wheels to a mirror finish.
It can be used as a base for any other brand of sealant.

Finish restorer, dry to touch petroleum free leather and vinyl care, marine polish, shampoo/conditioner and sealant car wash and more make one great line up

Prices will be very reasonable. 473ml bottles only unfortunately but I'll cut prices down with large orders

Wow did april and may go real fast.

Sorry for no new tips or articles for so long.
We are still working away at the dream factory, setting up the working space, offices, entertainment room and showroom

My friend Jason and I are still planning on doing a complete series of auto detailing and general car care DVD's but we are in need of a new recharger and some other bits and pieces before we can get started

At the moment all my sales stock has been cleared out and ASAP, Prima, Detailers Paradise, Jeffs Werkstatt and Pakshak hawaiian microfibre will be back in stock, plus einszett, driven to perfection and renovo of europe should be added to the line up by years end

Matrix micro coatings is another possibility.

I'll be back with more pics, tips, video from the dream machines open day and much more very soon.

Keep on shining people.

Best wishes.

Matthew Gibb
The scratchinator.
