Sounds like you need to get out a pro carpet and upholstery cleaner. They've got awesome extractors and special shampoo's designed to clean everything out of car interiors and not leave you with a wet bum when you get in the car.

Actually no. Check out your yellow pages for a professional carpet and upholstery cleaner in your area or nearby.

They will come out in their van. It's about $90 bucks to do the interior of a car but it beats doing it yourself by steam, hand or a wet vac

Yes Paul Dalton really likes wax
Wax is nothing but for shows really.
However it's his prep work that really matters.
His polishes are what I use. Very nice indeed.

Hello again fellow ford nutz.

Could you please tell me exactly what you want and expect from any car care product.
I know you are after maximum shine but what else.

If you can please list them in category. Wash, polishes, leather cleaners and protectants, quick detail sprays, spray wax and sealants, glass cleaners etc etc

To make better products my manufacturer friends and I need to know what you really want. Is it pure polishes with no fillers that wash out, better durability from wax and sealant protectants or other things.

I would also like to know what problems any of you are having when cleaning or detailing your car and give me as much detailed info as possible so that I can help you out with techniques and possibly create a better product that stops that problem.

Do you have any ideas for products?
At the moment I am working on a drying aid, shampoo that enhances gloss, protects the paint and keeps the paint slick and aids drying and a wipe on body lotion called Auto motion lotion which is easy to apply, absorbs into the paint and keeps it slick.
Just like moisturiser for our skin

I look forward to your answers.
The member with the best answers will win a bottle of Menzerna 106FF ultimate finishing polish (pure polish, no fillers) with postage payed by me.

Other members with good answers will win some samples of my own mat's magic, scratchinator and wash wiz prototype products.

Maybe some trim dream, Scratch Banish or Swirl abolish light cut polish or Wash Wiz Water vanish drying aid that makes the paint hate water and sheet it away in seconds. you won't know until it arrives

Happy and Safe motoring
Matt

G'Day 1st up great work aurora have been reading most of the posts is a lot there. i want to get stuck into my ef it has been neglected for a while, and was thinking of getting a buffing machine but after reading this forum u have said several times about only using 3-4 times on the life of car. so is it a waste of time buying one? i have a few areas were i have left dirty finger prints "oil grease" on white paint from working on car. what would be the best way to remove? any advise would be appreciated thanks.

Hi pal

If you are only ever going to work on your car and future cars that replace the EF, I recommend you get a bosch random orbital. They are around $150 dollars and though not as powerful as a rotary, are very safe for beginners and you will get pro results from it

If you are careful with the car and polish once a year only, you could get away with several goings over with a soft to finishing polish as these are far softer than paint leveling compounds.

It's when you get out the cutting pads and a compound three or four times that you may incur clear coat failure or severe single stage paint layer loss.

Any 2000 to 3500 grit polishes are fine for use four or five times or more. It all depends on what condition your paint is in and if it has been professionally cut and polished or done by previous owner by hand

To remove those stains, use prepsol wax and grease remover. PPG brand is cheap. $22 bucks for four litres. It's good to use that after claying your paint too.

Hi Ford modders, I'm back with some more advice

I'm well buddy. In actual fact I just got Glare pro polish and permagard products and the infinity is next in line to buy.

Glare pro is so far a sensational product that will fill alot of swirls and defects for a long period of time and is a terrific sealant

It also polishes a heap of different materials including your EL's exterior mouldings

I spoke to Vijay at Paint protection direct yesterday and he has been working on a new 2007/08 range that should be better again.

We'll give it a go when I come up your way next

OK i've done a few quick videos yesterday and this first group show application and removal of my Mat's Magic Ultra hydrophobic drying aid spray which makes water sheet off the paint extremely quickly, leaving the treated areas bone dry in seconds with only a few spots of water here and there to remove.

This car has no sealant or wax on it either, just polished. On sealant coated paint, it works better
