Not a bad idea IMHO.

What is the resistor mod? A step up of power?

I wasn't planning on making them black at all, just enough for them to look a little mean.

lol i have resisted laughing at this ........ use the search and look up resister power mod and see what it says

i think if u tint them it should be very little cause if its too dark and someone runs up your a** your insurance will be voided and you will have to pay all costs and hope to god that noone gets killed

How dark is too dark? This would probably be too dark for some, not dark enough for others, looks good tho I think. Obviously it's my wagon, not your car, lol

so does that mean that the altezza lights are illegal. they arnt standard so obviously there is a loop hole in relation to this. in that case, maybe as i am not sure, dark tail lights may be alrite if your willing to argue the case, as long as they arnt a hazzard, i suppose. but then again what is considered a hazard.
so my question is the altezza lights illegal since they arnt standard.

The clear tail lights 'altezzas' are illegal because they dont have a red reflector.
Tinting them means they are no longer ADR compliant - illegal.

This is what I was told when I recently got a roadworthy done:

"indicator lenses must be either clear or amber, not cracked or faded, and if they're clear, an amber globe must be fitted so there is an amber light when indicating"

Given that the "altezza" style lights are just clear lights, then I'd guess they'd be legal, as long as the correct globes are used.

Does anyone have any tips for seperating the exterior plastic cover from the interior plastic backing on the centre peice?

I have removed 4 screws that seem to be the ones holding the two together but they won't come apart, do I have to remove all 8?
The last 4 are very difficult to get at.

besides being gay, altezzas for e series are illegal , in relation to ADR, cause they dont have the red reflector..... which has already been said lol

ive been told that if they are "E" stamped then they are adr approved.

altezza's are fine so long as the stop lights have the red filter and they also have the red reflector

i went out and bought my altezzas for my ef, the guy said, they are illegal because they dont have red reflectors on them, so he gave me a packet of 2 reflectors to stick on. he also said that other shops selling these should advise you and give you red reflectors or give you the option to buy some.. so then it doesnt come back on them for selling dodgey s**t, and then they can just say "i advised the customer if his/her options and left it up to them.

but in saying that, i didnt stick the reflectors on cos they look gay as, and i have had cops follow me and havent been pulled over once.

These are the ones I bought..

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... :IT&ih=016

The red stripe is the reflector that the standard EB/ED has as well, just these ones are clear with colored globes.

Looked gay when I first put them on my car,, but I've since colour coded the whole back of the car and it looks great now. (will do photos, because I started out with a really ugly EA fairmont ghia rear and now have a fairly customized ED ghia with the custom lights. (also did a fair bit of welding for areas that were rusted and also seams that I could weld.)
