I have an NL fairlane, recently had a bingle and had to replace the bonnet as she was beyond repair (Luckily it was just the bonnet and no engine/engine bay damage)
I got an EF fairmont bonnet, and it's charcoal grey. My fairlane is silver, and obviously this looks ridiculously stupid ( i get bagged by my mates for attempting the 'godzilla' look hahaha)

anyway i went to a crash repair centre (as he so proudly called his business), and he quoted 440 just for a respray of the bonnet without blending
i don't know heaps about painting, but that seemed damned expensive to me. My mates dad who is an ex panel beater said it'd be around 250-300 tops.

is this guy for real or is he trying to rip me off? what should i expect for a respray from charcoal grey to silver? i don't want an immaculate job, it doesn't have to match perfectly, i just want the paint to resemble that of the rest of the car. l

and also, if anyone knows the colour codes for a silver NL fairlane concorde?

Sounds about right to me.
Paint work is you get what you pay for. If you want to pay s**t you will get s**t in return if you can get anyone to actually do the work.

yeah thats about right, he's trying it on a little. Really its no big deal to spray the tops of the front guards and blow it down and clear coat.. jeez i mean the paint is in the gun so he's a bit of a tight a**.
