welcome to the site mate, your car looks nice and tidy.

million things you could do, lower it, bigger wheels, slotted discs/better pads (think you'll find the stock ones give up the game pretty quickly if you give it some stick through the twisties), funkier steering wheel, cam, larger intake

depending on how much you got to blow, a tickford kit would look awesome on it.

bob at canberra car styling (site sponsor) does aftermarket copies of the tickford kits and can do pretty good prices for fm members. i think about 700-800 bucks delivered.

i got my kit from awc, was just under a grand delivered to my door for front, side and rear skirts aswell as the spoiler.

larger snorkles go for about 35-40 bucks for an el gt one/au xr. as for the intake, 200 bucks give or take sounds about right.

i wouldnt spend 200 on an intake.

idd through that towards finishing the exhaust, let the v8 be heard.

shiftkit ~$6
catback exhaust ~$330

just some ideas

Why do you want a 5.slow wheezer??

bigbeard, get the exhaust finished off first, twin 2.25" systems seem to have good results and sound very nice.
Unfortunately thats about the end of cheap-ish mods on the 5Ls.
Next step is getting rid of the restrictive manifold and heads, and depending on your goals, a bigger MAF and TB wouldn't go astray, then slot in a bigger bump stick, get it tuned, and voila... one quick XR8.

Your best bet for the first one is a set of under drive pulleys that would set you back about $280 and then about $65 for fitting. Gives you back about 7-11 rwkw.

Second I would do is get a good exhaust system including Pacemaker extractors which would cost about $2000 including fitting. Good for about 10 - 15 rwkw.

Next step would be a custome tune with the new flash setup that'll be coming out on the first of November. That would set you back about $1250 and be good for 10 - 20 rwkw

After that it gets a bit expensive for go fast mods.

yep, get ready to reach deep. you'll get no real power till you get rid of the exhaust, heads and manifold.

Nice, the Series 1 EF XR6/XR8 are easily the best lookings EF/EL XRs simply because of those door moulds, and the front is tougher on the EF too.

if you want to leave as 5.0L then best bang for buck is replace top half of motor

Cheapest scenario would be GT 40P heads, explorer intake manifold, bigger throttle body and airflow meter
Whilst heads are off deceide on what cam you want to use and drop this in also

This combined with the pacies you already have will let motor breath a LOT better hence give you a lot more power

You will also need to have computer rechipped to suit new mods so leave this till the very last as this will get maximum benefit for all your hard work and $$$ invested
