Does anyone who as BiXenon HIDS have a controller or is the actuator for Hi Beam wired directly to the car loom?

I purchased some BiXenon Hids on Ebay that have a controller that controlls the Ballast and Hi beam actuator. The controller failed after a short drive and I returned it under warranty but I am having trouble dealing with them. I have temporarily bypassed the controller for Lo beam but was wondering if I need the controller at all.
