Hey guys I was just wondering if something like this would fit into the EF/EL taillights?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-x-24-LED-Red-C ... dZViewItem

Would be great for a brighter brake light with the clear taillights or otherwise.

Thanks,
Luke.

cant see why it would not fit,
as long as it is 12volt and runs 2 sets of LED's

and fits teh bulb holders which it should

dont get them, they are s**t. ive had them adn there isnt much difference in the tail/stop transition.
when you have the parkers on and you hit the brakes there is f**k all difference in the brightness.

as regie said no good i have had a person i met off ebay tell me in daylight you can hardly see them.

they work well for trucks but if you have ever seen them , you can see whey they work so well, one if the size of the LED and the other is they are close to the casing,

with a car lens the led is a mile away.

Have a search for tailights and the username mavs19 - IIRC he said to be careful of some of these units as the LED's were very one directional -very hard to see at various angles.
There is in the doco's a mod were you add a couple of diodes to make the park light come on with the brake light, and not vice versa.

The viewing angle of an LED can be increased to nearly 160 deg, by filing down the top to make it flat.

We did this to IR leds when a remote control wouldnt work in certain parts of the room.. problem fixed.

The lower you can go, the wider the viewing angle.. until it stops working of course..

Also, about the brghtness.. you need high intensity LEDs, and the general concensous is 1/3 rear lights 2/3 brake lights. the 50/50 ones are crap.

Be careful of ebay ones, as some only use general d**k Smith style LEDs.. and in daylight you have no hope of seeing them.

Check the LUMENS value before purchase, make sure they match your existing lights, or higher
