Hi Guys,

I have been dealing with a local panel shop who are willing to supply me with a complete steel bonnet along with a steel xr8 bulge fitted to it (not the usual crappy fiberglass stuff which cracks over time)

At this stage its just myself who is going ahead and the price I have been quoted is $1500 max (The painter just wanted to double check that I didnt have a special aftermarket paint etc on my car) if not more than likely it will be around $1250.

I did enquire with him, if more people were interested, he could possibly do a better price.

So I just wanted to know if anyone else out there was keen on getting one made?

its much cheaper to find a genuine bulge from a damaged xr8 bonnet then getting it welded on... most panel beaters for some reason didnt want to do this and if they did they charged $1000-$2000 just for getting the bulge etc on + painted.

shop around and get quotes... some one will do it for much cheaper then the quotes i mentioned.

1000-2000 and i went to several panel beaters in the northern suburbs of melbourne. Shop around you may find it cheaper

Hey guys, someone worth talking to would be Savage Fibreglass in Bargo NSW, i got my AU boss bonnet from him for around $650 plus painting, and his filbreglass work is second to none, my bonnet is thicker and stronger than the original metal one, not like the el cheapo fibre glass you have mentioned above.

i second them they do great work and are very helpful
