G'day Ben,
Your last post in the link was about 6 weeks ago, has it been like that since then? Sounds like it could be a loose wire or poor solder join in the climate control unit?? Either way the quickest way to fix it will be to just replace the unit. There is usually a couple on ebay for sale. Or
You can pull yours apart and check it yourself. Not that hard to do, a phillips head screw driver and removing about a dozen screws and she'll be out. I had mine out recently looking at what was required to change to blue leds. Once you pull out the cable connector there is one small screw that holds the circuit board to the casing. Remove that and then gently prise open the lock clips around the face unit and slide the cover off the circuit board. You can then inspect the circuit board and check all of the cable connections to the board.
If your handy with a soldering iron it wouldn't hurt to run the tip off your iron over each of the joins to fresshen up the solder joins.
Or just replace it.
Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Mick

Very fine example there ebman! I assume it's the 6? Have a read through here and you should pick up some tips. First thing to do which will set you back about $50 and 1/2 Hr of your time is throw in a set of AUII Fairmont Clear side repeaters. Makes a huge difference to the look of the car.
I may be heading to Sydney Friday night to Harry's at Liverpool, do you live anywhere near there? We might be able to get a few tanks together if MRE-50L is taking his DC out.
Cheers,
Mick

Your diff ration will be stamped on the id tag attached to the rear of the diff housing. If it has high performance stamped on it it is an LSD. Mine is a 3:27 LSD, but not sure if that was standard across the NC/DC range or just the LTD'a and Ghia's?

anyone know what diff ratio comes in the NC fairlanes?
were they lsds or open enders?
was there a difference in diff ratios and engine specifications (power and torque) between the series one and two models?

im keen on buying one as i love the stance when they are low on nice wheels. what sort of performance do they put out with a stock 5L with an exhaust? are they are slug or a nice torqy cruiser
Thanks

Didn't I already answer that question last week? I didn't tell you what you have fitted to your car specifically, but if you get under your car with a torch, you will know for sure.

Ah! you don't have one already  bit hard to get under there and have a look eh! Don't go crawling under any NC's at the local shopping centre either. Might be a bit hard to explain if you get caught
