Well, I finally completed the changeover from a light grey XT interior to a black and dark grey XR interior.
I will have some photos soon.
Everything was easy to do except for the glovebox and surround. Had to remove the complete dash including steering wheel cover, drivers seat and center console to replace the glovebox. The piece each side of the stereo in the BA is all one piece with the glovebox - do not want to do that again!
I have to thank Darren at FTG Auto Salvage for supplying parts.
Now I have to replace the seat belts as they are still grey, but it looks OK at the moment.

If anyone needs any assistance or advice on doing this - PM me.

Unfortunately no - had to remember what went where - 9 straight hours - if I stopped to take pics I am sure I would still be figuring out what screws went where!

Here are some pics - still using the grey headrest monitors for the time being - at $450 they can stay there a bit longer. Start working on the brakes and suspension next.

XR seats are a lot better than the standard XT ones. They are more comfortable and the passenger seat also has back controls, same as the drivers seat.

Got the complete interior (trims + seats + all plastic mouldings + center console + dash + rear parcel shelf) for $750.00

Jesus that looks like a nightmare to change over the glovebox.

Hey guys...I did the same thing to my XL ute...XR interior , black carpet etc. but when I discovered the centre dash nightmare I had some paint colour matched at a refinish supplier and sprayed the mongrel! Turned out perfectly...all the other panels that were easily replaced were simply swapped over. The hardest part was changing over the glovebox lock barrel to keep the keys original ...Linz.

How'd you go installing the premium ICC in place of the standard monochrome unit? I'd like to do that sort of thing with my XR6 except I'm also considering a climate control conversion too (another bit step again over the premium ICC).
