hey all, the BA im getting (hopefully tomorrow) has the traditional car dealer Armor-All coating all over the dash and plastics etc. I F*CKING HATE Armor-all with a passion, i dont care if it protects plastic, id rather it getting damaged by the sun than being slimy as hell attracting every piece of dust that floats past.
so what have you guys used to get it off the dash without staining it? I thought about using Prepsol but that seems to leave a white stain on dashes. cheers

mix 50% water and 50% metho
put in on a cloth and wipe over thats what i did on the bf fairmont cheers bear |

For armor all you shouldn't really need anything other than water to take it off, Just go buy yourself a decent microfibre cloth and a spray bottle filled with water that should get it off easily. I also hate this stuff as its an absolute waste of money.
Once you get it all off, i suggest Buying some AutoGylm Vinyl and Rubber care (best stuff you can get off the shelf) and again use a microfibre cloth and spray on the cloth then apply to the trim. IF you want a high gloss add extra product but most of the time it leaves a matte finish and UV protects everything. However it does still attract dust over time but AutoGylm isn't sticky or slimy and therefor is much easier to maintain by simply getting your microfibre cloth and wiping over the trim easy as. Hope this helps

armour all is silicon based so water wont help, i found normal glass cleaner works ok.
do u use isopropyl alcohol at your work, that is good gear too, great for getting contaminents off paintwork and glass without smears and not affecting the finish too |

baby wipes are pretty good for removing armor-all as well. something with a mild soap and a few going overs will work well. Even try sugar soap, the stuff I use to get all sorts of crap off the walls after the kids go to bed of a night.

Craig, im not sure if we use isopropyl alcohol, but if i can find some at work i might give it a go.

Yeah i would be careful using a cleaner like that on your trims, always a chance it can take some of the colour off etc and make it look duller. But yeah i didn't realize armor-all was silicon based haha (i have never used it so nuf said).
But yeah i still regard AutoGylm Vinyl and Rubber care to be a good all rounder for interior trims. and decent priced to, will only set you back $19-24 in most places.
