Where would I be able to buy vinyl? I'd like to get the same vinyl material/colour that a trimmer used to do my dash. I would use this trimmer, but he is charging me something like $60 for the door inserts when it's something I could easily do myself.

Try going to the market and see if there are one of those old people that sell rolls and rolls of carpet...they may have vinyl there. I bought myself black and white vinyl from the market and they are pretty good quality...just never had the time to utilize them with my trimming.

Most trimmers are the same. The fact that they are charging money for work I can easily do.

I got the vynal for my EF Door Inserts from Spotlight. Cost me about $10 in material and $3 in glue and $30 for the carton of beer a drank while doing them.

The only reason you get quoted a s**t price for an upholstery job is the upholsterer dont want to do it. So if he quotes you a high price, chances are you will go F**k that and go elsewhere.
On the other hand if you say yep thats cool, he has to do it, but gets more money for the job anyways.

try skipping the middle man and go to a motor trimmer SUPPLIER. they have heaps better quality vinyl than a hardware store, and about a zillion more colours
