Planning a Complete Custom Center Console

will make the frame from MDF (9mm?)Glue a Thin Foam to it and cover with leather then Embed the Black Gloss Plastic Inside It

Havent Measured Anything Yet... Not to fussed About the Pods it it wont all fit...

have a few things i want in it...

Buttons
-Engine Start/Kill Switch (hook up to starter motor wire)(push and hold while turn key to start)
-Amp Auto/Off (1/2) (though remote on wires)
-Headunit and Amps On (override Acc so can turn on CD without keys)
-2nd Interior Lights Button (control all interior lights)

Controls
-Amp 1/2 (Bass) (through hard wired remote supplied with amps)

Lights
-from door switch rear
- one each side below gear stick
- one for back seats
-from intermittent lights
- leds below console lid shine forward on buttons
- In Bottom Of Drink Holders

Appearance
- Leather Sides
- Gloss Black Top (embedded In Leather)
- Blue L.E.Ds Used
- BA GT Gear Boot

Other

-drink holders x 2 on right
-CD AUX Input (headphone Jack)
-air to vents to pass thought drink holders into back (BA Vents?)

have got the mdf and pulled out the measuring tape thismorning... looks like a fair bit of work... but this is my w/end car so its ment to be in a few peaces 1/2 of its life...

i think you would be better making it out of fiberglass than MDF

looks liek u have the right idea with a plan etc

just make sure when u add all the wiring make sure it is fues and use relays if needed

make the mdf one,include the brackets and all the cut outs,paint the outside-try to use release tapers to ease the mould off,bunnings sell fibre glass kits and matting.to stiffen it up use wire mesh,3-4mm will do it,or you can target areas and thicken it to 4-6mm,use cups-plastic or card board as moulds.

its a good start... havent brought the buttons yet or made the drink holders/ lights or BA Gear Boot... im just using the air flow pipes as the base....

so far (excluding the $200 of tools i brought yesterday lol i now have a circular saw and electric planner :D) $30 on leather and $20 on the MDF and $2 on wood screws...

What have u done with your H/U ??? Is it an aftermarket single DINN ? because it doesnt look stock to me

Added sides... not sure what im going to cover them with... considering just painting them white...? if it looks to s**t i can just cover them ...

also need to add buttons. gear boot. create some sort of vents for the back... might put some mesh over them...console lid and front

f**k man looking good... i reakon if you get stuck go to your local TJM and look in there "custom consoles" leaflet for ideas or covering ideas...
