would it be illegal to convert a EA-EB1 GL or S pack Model, preffrably a EB2-ED GLI or Futura model to a ED Fairmont or Fairmont GHIA by replacing all the wiring looms, interior, all Mechanicals and runnig gear
INc engine, gearbox, brakes, diff changing the EA or EB2 Radiator Grille to a ED fairmont GHIA one, ETC. what parts would be illegal to replace and what parts wouldnt as i wont be modifying it for a loud exhaust, ill only be putting a 6 cylinder engine in. any information would be good. would it have to go to regency if everything works | ||

having converted an EF Futura to Fairmont Ghia specs, my best bit of advice is the following:
buy a fairmont ghia! i've installed climate control, full electrics, replaced all interior, engine, gearbox, diff - wish i'd bought an EFII Ghia to start with, the efforts i've gone through aren't necessarily worth the rewards, compared to the extra few $$$ to get the higher-spec model sorry to sound like a kill-joy, just my take having done the same thing!

The ugly one is right, for the price that ED Monts go for now, much easier to start from there.
To convert an ED Fairmont to a Ghia is a piece of piss. Interior, colour coded sidemoulds, paint the grill centre piece matte silver, steering wheel, badges, ghia rear garnish, and you are done.

you won't have any problems legality-wise, not that anyone would know anyways!
best bet if you do, buy a wrecked one from the auctions & swap it all over - then you see how it comes out & works, so you can drop it in yours the same way
