hey guys im doing up my nc fairlane and im currantly doing a manaul conversion
and im getting close to taking the dash out
im thinking of updating the interior to nf/nl

my question is
did the later n series ever come up with a digital dash
and if i do put a ef/el dash in will the trip computer and climate control from the ef/el work with my
nc wiring or will i have to change that loom too
as i am putting a el engine and loom in im currantly running and strecthing the engine bay wire to fit the longer front end of the lanes so when i get to the dash i want to have everything that i need then and there

send BenJ a pm he's done a NF dash into an EB wagon so he'd be the one to ask.

If you want to use any Post EF displays or dash in the NC then you'll need the Ef onwards (EL is nearly bolt in) ECU - the Dash and trip meter use digital data lines instead of just reading sensors.

From memory, the Dash has a data line to the EEC, and the Trip meter has a data line to the dash.

Its a little more complicated if your looking at a 5.0 because there is another data line between the EEC and the Trans computer, and it uses different signaling (not sure about wiring) also from EB/D to EF/L

As mentioned though - benJ has done it. its in his build threads. You'll need the EL ECU first.
