Umm wiring would definitely be different. I'm no professional, but I think the EF/EL clusters might draw more/less current/voltage then the EB cluster. So you may need to add resistors and what not to make it work effectively and properly. Might be worth while looking at some diagrams from a Gregory's manual or Haynes, IF they have the electrical readings and stuff like that for the cluster.

good luck

i just looked up on the technical doco's and found that all powers are of the same voltage... so this hopefully means that no resistors have to be added. but what scares me is will the speedo be accurate?? not really worried about tacho, oil or volt meter but kinda would like speedo, temp and fuel to be accurate need suggestions and advice coz i really hate the look of the eb clusters... APRECIATED, ALEX

personally i haven't done the mod in my old EA but you might try asking your ford dealer about the speedo, fuel and temp correction factor, also i believe if it is different they can change it for you

I think you'll find you'll need to run an EL ECU (EEC V) to give the cluster full functionality.

Most definitly you need to use the EF/EL cpu(EEC) as some instruments get the info from the EEC not direct from the sensor. I know as I started as you want to and ended up doing the whole dash etc. Changing the EEC in some cases needs resistors fiteed to trick it into doing the right thing, like the fans etc, gearbox temp etc. A big job and not for the faint hearted, but don't let that stop you.

dont mean to nit pick here but seriously what would be the point of changing it over if nothing but the speedo works yes i know it looks better but maybe its just me i hate having somthing that doesn't work.

as for asnwer to your question i don't know what would be involved but i suggest go the whole hog el 4l el interior as said in the nike ad just do it lol

i have done it and i LOVE it sooooo much more power soooooo much more fun

Dont forget if you do the whole dash thing you have to get smart lock going or get a bypass unit.
Fine if you know what your doing. Takes quite a time to do even when you know what to do . Just ask those who have done it.
