I have recently brought a Ford EB Falcon (1993) and the imobeliser is amking a ticking noise which is realy annoying. Does anyone know what is causes this?

do u mean as you arm and disarm or at random?

Please can anyone help me with this ticking immobilizer i have asked acouple of ford places and they have said to buy a new one but i don't really want to spend that much due to it still works but is annoying having a ticking noise when you are driving. :cry: :cry: :cry:

not quite sure what you mean by this mate......

If it's a factory (smartlock etc) immobiliser, there is not a hell of a lot to it that could really tick...... Ign barrel, BEM and computer..... no moving parts (apart from the key in the barrel).

Is it possible you have a dodgey relay in the car?

Where does the noise actually come from?

I think it may be the relays due to all of them are vibrating when the car is running - does anyone know where i can buy the relays from and there id or a diagram of some sorts to help (i have a electrical engineer in the family).
