Hey guys,
Saw an au xr dash litten up at night, i like it how the tickford wings light up as well. Just wondering if anyone has managed to achieve this in an ef/el xr? I guess you would have to solder in another blub behind the wings correct? Thanks, Kyron.

Thanks for the reply Ryan. My bulb must be blown then. I know the bulb behind my fuel cluster is blown as well so gives me something else to do when i finally get around to doing it. Can anyone confirm that the tickford wings should light up?

I don't think the standard cluster lights up, but custom ones can.

No the EL XR8 i own the tickford wings light up nicely....they transparent backing are tinted blue so it lights up in blue rather than the white used for the rest...looks nice.
Thats stock as is too I havent modified it at all.....yet

Thats stock as is too I havent modified it at all.....yet My mate has a s2 el xr6, and apparently his tickford wings don't light up either. He said when he took his cluster out the tickford wings weren't trasparent at the back, which would explain why they wouldn't light up.

Just buy a new cluster facia on ebay with tickford wings that light up..

Sounds like that might be the case. Seems pretty crazy why they'de do that but oh well, custom guage faces here we come!

yeah - it would be easy to do.
You can get one of this shift light kits from chiptorque, or maybe even jarcar - its just an LED shift light kit. (I got one in my XR8 cost under $80 to buy, and took 10 mins to install) and mount it behind the tickford wing in the dash, so that it would illuminate when you hit redline. hmmmm..... /me has idea's now
