As the header says...sometimes it goes up and down fine, other times it goes down, then the switch is dead for up. If i leave it a few minutes, it goes up fine?!

The switch itself seems OK. Any ideas where to start? Maybe just replace the switch?

when it gets stuck, give the window a tug.. they come out of the runners some times and will get stuck

Pull the switch out, take it apart and clean the contacts, sounds like they may just be dirty.

Mine did exactly that, it turned out to be the contacts in the switch.
