Depends on how you look at it. It's hideous and underpowered by today's standards. But it is exclusive, and knowing that way back in 96 it was the bees knees makes it cool. Yeah, I'd gladly own it. As for paying 80k for it; I would if I could afford it.

Spot on. Wouldn't personally pay 80g for it, but they were the shin dig back then, doens't matter how ugly they are they'll still be cool as!

Factory stroker, 6 speed, 1 of 85.
If you attached those specs to a falcon, you blokes would be pulling yourselves over it.
I reckon the GTSRs are awesome, wing is s**t, but they are a classic example of 90s aussie muscle.
Look at EB GT and EL GT, both ugly as sin with ridiculous wings.
Just a shame Ford didn't make them proper muscle cars like HSV did with the GTSR.

just looking at the picture of the cluster, on the left its got the average speed of 80km/h
lol isnt that slightly high considering my cars spent its whole life around 80 and 100km/h roads and the average speed is like 50km/h.

lol seems like that car could have been given a flogging and reached some high speeds maybe?

there is one at parkside HSV in sydney as well. good luck getting 80k for one of these today. markets crashing, it will be agges before on of these cars is worth this ort of money again. the thing to remember with these is the 1st aussie car to use carbon fibre in iits construction, actually had to be developed by the CSIRO as carbon fibre was not avaliable to the public.

Only 85 build to. but yeah as its been said already, its still a VS everyother day of the week.

from what i reall reading the rear wing didnt actually exert much downforce, apparently the front end wouldnt of been able to cope if it did. and apparently they all came out yellow like that, which was the same colour as either the vic or nsw premier of that time decided the states taxi's were going to be. limited build means good value retention, but personally i think it looks s**t house.

I can't believe these things would fetch that sort of asking price.
Sure the thing was reasonably quick but it's got no racing pedigree, it's not particularly significant in any way - other than the outlandish body kit and equally outlandish paint job - and it's not THAT quick (and wasn't all THAT quick, even back in the day). Ask average Joe if he know's what they are and you'll almost always get a blank stare followed by "gee I bet they're a gas guzzler".

A VL Walky - fine. I can understand why they have a high asking price; racing pedigree (Bathurst win), the first production HSV, etc, etc.
But not a friggin VS. Come on!
