Just heard on the radio that channel 7 has won back the rights to host V8 supercars from channel 10 for the next few years. This will be interesting no doubt. I reckon that more of the old timers might return to supporting V8 supercars now.

I just found the old group A days on channel 7 much more interesting. IIRC they won the contract from 2007 till 2012.

ahh s**t. channel 10 has made the v8's what it is today. how could they lose it to 7. if 7 f**k it up im gonna personally punch bruce maccavaney in the mouth.
7 only ever gave a toss about sandown and bathurst. oh well, u'd hope that avesco or woteva they call themselves these days have their eye on the ball and have made 7 guarantee certain air time and live coverage.

Oh that's right... Channel 10 have already gone half way to that stage. This could be a real winner for Ch7... let's hope they make the most of it.

ch7 also has rights to friday night and sunday football so there is no guarente we will even see the v8s on tv anymore apart from the enduros what a load of s**t, ch10 has made v8s what it is today and people in country sa dont even get ch7. how can this happen v8s have grown so much in last few years thanks to the great coverage ch 10 has provided and i dont wana see all that hard work go to waste. the sport is getting so big non motorsport companys are sponsoring cars because of the great publicty v8s have been getting and now this will all go down the drain this will be the end of v8s as we no it today

Yeah this is going to be real interesting seeing that they got back Touring car racing and AFL. I want to see more TV coverage of drag racing in Australia. SBS and channel 9 do a real s**t job of that. that it gets boring after only 15 mins.

i dunno, maybe we're gettting work up for nothing and channel 7 know wot they're doing. still, seems stupid to me that 10 put in all the effort for the last 10 years and then let it go to 7

they will do a s**t job just like they used to and i dont even get ch7 where i live, ch10 did a deal with local tv mob that we could get ch10 but had to loose all ch7 shows so now i guess ill be reading about v8s in the paper from next year not watching them on tv like i should be <THIS SUKS>

read in the paper that channel 10 lost the rights to show v8 supercars cause channel 7 paid 5 times more then what 10 was paying at the moment. it also said they v8supercars will clash with afl n i think footy. channel 7 will have problems with making some money on it as its impossible/hard to gain all the money back from what they bidded for the rights.
my therory is at the end no one will watch it and then channel 10 will buy it back and start at the beginning as they done about 8 years ago..

Hmmm personally, i dont think channel 7 have f**k it.
They have grant denyer and matthew white (both ex-channel 10 guys who have a passion for v8s). If channel 7 get the right commentators it may just work for them. though then again it might get screwed over. Dunno if anyone else has noticed but the channel 10 commentators are a bit biased, and never give credit where its due. Always talking about how good all the holden teams are etc, and very good at stating the obvious.

yeah i cant see 7 doing a better or equal job than 10 has done. I thought 10 done a awesome job broadcasting the races.
Im sure 7 will do a ok job though, as long as they have the right commentators and stuff. And they broadcast all the races properly.

i dont think its a matter of whos commentating the races. its air time. and if 7 have the footy on when are they gonna play the v8's???
