Stolen off another site, but they'll get over it. Anyways, read under Holden/HSV.

surely this is asking for trouble? As if tyhe SS is pushing 300, whats the HSV range gunna be toping at?
Wonder what Fords gunna bite back with?
But couldn't this land us into another situation like back in the day with the Phase 4?

i couldn't agree more with that Frank! likewise with 4WD's, should require a seperate licence.

Whats wrong with 4 wheel drives? Nothing much different about them!

driving a 4wd is different to driving a normal family sedan.... you've gotta be aware of the different centre of gravity/roll centre, the bigger size of the vehicle, different braking characteristics, etc

god knows, about a year ago i hadnt driven a 4wd for ages, hopped in a heavily laden landcruiser trayback, and drove off, didnt change my driving style to compensate, and nearly rolled it within the first 10km

you would think holden would be smarter than that. its nice to have bragging rights to hvaing such a powerful car. but it completely f**k over the poor bastards that went out and bought the previous model. so even tho there car maybe only a few months old its only got 255kws or woteva they have now, and does nothing for resales.

if ford release a 300kw + car it would be great, it would also be under the fpv banner, which means any buyer would get the standard driver training package that comes with the car.

holden dont do this for the ss. any hack can get one as a company car and then wrap it around a tree.

i'm not worried about being embarresed by a Holden, I'm worried about this having negitive effects on us all - as shown previously with the Phase 4.
Also idiots with more power than they know what to do. Fair enough if like Frank suggested they have a seperate licence - which would mean they'd have to do some sort of training for it...

Hmm, I had no idea that they did that... pretty good duty of care on their behalf. (I mean that in a serious way, not taking the piss).
Learn something new every day.

Urgh... image isnt working for me... unless it is my puter playing silly buggers again.

But a 300kw bread and butter (compared to the HSV) SS would be crasy, in a spectacular kinda way.

I dont know if you read the articvle about the BF f6 autos being the quickest accelerating falcons since the phase 3. In that ford was "not going to publish acceleration figures and let the publioc and media do that for themselves"

At least they are covering themselves better than they did with the phase 4!! :D
