They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

LEST WE FORGET.

Wow--Fantastic guys. I have just returned from the dawn service at the shrine of rememberance here in Melbourne.Terrific to see such a wide spread of ages of participants,from very elderly,to very young.Our country is in safe hands with a turn out like this.

To bad there's less of the diggers every year. How long until all the WW2 vets are gone as well.

I'm glad I've been alive to see them. Future generations won't be able to say that.

I come from a long Defence background, and currently work in a Defence environment - although I'm not military.

Lest we forget,

Got up really early about 2:30 this morning and went in to my unit and had a gunfire breakfast (Rum & Cofee).
Then went to the service like I do every year. A huge turn out once again for Canberra, seems to be growing by the year.

I did the Parramatta dawn service this morning. It kinda felt wrong to start drinking at 3.30AM, but I had to oblige none the less :P

Absolutely huge turnout for the 4.30AM service, most RSL members saying its the biggest they've seen in 20-30 years. Amazing!

Lest we forget!

Having been in the army for 20 years as a sargeant in 7th transport,going to the dawn service ,then marching with my grandfathers unit the 2/8th,and then on to my units celebrations it is fantastic to see the younger generation appreciating what these amazing diggers did for their country!
