Well here's the deal. Ive found evidence that in SA, a vehicle made after 1976 will require a secondary compliance plate if fitted with a supercharger or turbo.

Im not paying for it to be engineered so it is coming off before the inspection. Fun job. To then take the car home and re-fit the setup... just doesnt appeal to me, knowing that the thing would effectively be a rolling defect.

The kit is designed for EB-EL V8. However, to fit to an AU v8, you prob just need a different bracket. To fit to an I6 youll need a different bracket and different intake plumbing.

Oh - the kit also comes with a 73mm MAF.

what?? you dont want to pay $80 for a mod plate?? but you'll spend the time to take it off?

Pffft, an engineer would want $80 just for his time on the phone to you.
If you could find him someone to do it for that price i don't think he'd hesitate.

Question for you Martin, if you know, are superchargers universal when it comes to mounting points?
i.e. Would your bracket accomodate a vortech?

Steady - i believe the answer there is no. The vortech has quite a different housing shape.

The only other blower that would fit would be the gear-driven powerdyne blower.

Hey

The aspects of the kit which would be of little use to you would be the bracket, the pulley/belt setup, the intake plumbing and the chip for the ECU. That really just leaves the blower, fuel regulator, water injection etc.

Im not sure if anything needs to be changed on the engine to deal with boost. For the V8, its just a matter of changing the MAF sensor, which is included in the kit.

CAPA told me it would cost ~$500 for engineer to look over it. Since the kit is already engineered, they are only making sure it was installed as per the instructions.

Well here's the deal... i was defected for too low on the front and rear... and anything suspension related requires a regency inspection to clear the defect. Unfortunately the boys down at regency dont just look at the stuff you've been defected for... they give the whole car a going over...
