You need to drop the gearbox. But its still not hard:

When you remove the interior boot you will notice that only 2 of the 4 bolts retaining the shifter are accessable. You have to loosen the transmission crossmember bolts under the car to allow the box to drop to provide access to the other two retaining bolts. Off the top of my head the bolts holding the transmission crossmember to the chassis are 13mm bolts 2off and are accessable from under the car.

Place a jack on the back of the trans, take the weight of the trans with the jack, and remove the two retaining bolts for the cross member till holding on by a few threads, slowly lower the back of the trans and let it hang down.

Make sure the driveshaft doesnt come out and it may leak a little fluid.

This SHOULD provide you with enough access from inside the car to get at the other two retaining bolts for the shifter.

alright im sure some bastard jinxed me! i read somewhere that someone ripped their clutch cable anchor through the firewall, and said they hope no-one has the same trouble.. WELL I DO!!!

Was trying to work out why my clutch was unadjusting itself... (getting harder and harder to shift into gears, mainly 1st, 2nd and Reverse)... seems the clutch was pulling the anchor further into the firewall, in the end the anchor was snagged on a piece of flimsy metal, about to give way! She's in the shop now getting a thick metal plate MIG welded onto the firewall for support.
im gonna be broke, again!

Well, thats my weekend in a nutshell

Hi Lee,
Currently I am out of shifters again, my last batch turned out to only be a partial batch due to 2 machines breaking. The machine were fixed last Friday but it will still be at least 1 week from today before we are caught up with more shifters.

Gus

So I have sent the money and order anyway.. Will let you guys know as soon as they are on their way.
