4500k is the legal limit

you can get HID kits in 4000/4500k

I'd love to see the police out on the road-side with their colour temperature chart trying to tell the difference between 4000K and 4500K :P

I've had plenty of encounters with NSW Hwy patrol, and they've never said anything about my 6000K's. I was questioned once in my last car with the 8000K's, but they said as long as they're aimed properly, they're not concerned.

1. how hard to fit in the same headlights a you?
2. how hard to "aim correctly" as ive seen hid aiming up and its annoying
3. whats the differance between a 4000k and 8000k kit (apart from colour) is it MUCH better light?

Each HID install I've done takes about 20-30 minutes.

Aiming the headlights isn't rocket science, there's simple adjustments on the beams.

4000K is an almost-white light, 6000K is very white, with a *tiny* hint of blue, and 8000K is white/blue.

the colour has nothing to do with how bright the light is, its more a measure of the colour.

IMO 4000-6000 provide the best driving light
i had 4000k on my EL, 6000k on the current car, not much in it really.

Ive driven with 8000k, if you are going to go 8000k id say stick with your normal halogens :)

8000k are still 3 times more bright than halogens.
Install is pretty easy the hard part is trying to deceide where to put the ballasts.
Anyone keen on the kit?

Basically connect the positive wire from your car to the positive on the ballast. Then take the negative wire off the back of the headlight and connect it to the negative on the ballast. Then simply put in the globe as you would with a halogen.

you would have to drill out a small hole in the plastic screw in cover that covers the back of the headlight so you can thread the wire through. Then find two spot s in your engine bay to store the ballasts.

Done! Will take you an hour to do it properly.
