Hi All,

I currently have an EL sedan with a just rebuilt 4.0 6 cylinder out of an XR6. This engine is less than 5000 kays old, drives very smoothly and is quite responsive and grunty. I had the car checked by my mechanic when I bought it and he did a compression test which he said came up very well.

I would like to trade this engine with someone for their EL only 6 cylinder which must be running and not stuffed.

I would like $600 and your engine installed into my car. Ideal situation would be to drive both cars to a mechanic, and purchaser pays for both engines to be swapped over.

Alternatively I am happy to drive to your place (depending on where exactly) or you could come to mine, and the swap could be done there.

While I am willing to help with the swap, I don't really have the experience or the time so you would need to know what you're doing & do the majority of the work.

We can either keep the accessories on each engine, or swap each others, not really fussed either way. Please note I will be keeping the extractors.

We can also swap over fuel regulator & fuel rail etc so that you get the correct XR6 spec parts.

At this stage I am not interested in selling the engine outright.

Please PM or post any queries or interest. Obviously restricted to Melbourne members only.

Thanks,

Justin.

PS sorry about the crappy pic, will try to get a better one in the next few days!

Hi,

I would like to return the car to standard, and will either give it to my little brother, or sell it.

Thanks,

Justin.

to be honest thats a lot of stuffing around dude, your best bet would be to sell the car and buy your bro a stock one.

Thanks for the feedback. That's why I have specified that the purchaser organises the swap. If it doesn't sell, I'm really not fussed, but this way my brother gets a free car!

Forgot to mention, I also have either the XR6 ECU or an EL Police ECU available for extra to go with the swap.

Thanks,

Justin.

Well, guess I'm open to that option too! Definitely a hell of a lot easier.

Happy to do a head swap + cash rather than a complete engine swap. Obviously a hell of a lot less work! Let me know if interested.

I hope you realise that if you do a head swap you will need two new sets of head bolts, head gaskets and most likely a few other things im forgetting.

Thanks, yes that would definitely need to be kept in mind for anyone wanting to swap heads only.

As I said though, complete engine is available, and for anyone with a bit of time on their hands, $600 for a freshly reconditioned EL XR6 engine is a great price.
