"We in South Australia have been left without a Drag Racing Facility for quite a few years now. We have no Sanctioned Racing and not even any Street Meets.
The Car community of Adelaide is suffering well because of this. We need to do something. We need to band together to get a state facility built here. If other states can do it, so can we. There are currently NO plans for a State Drag Racing Facility for South Australia that we are aware of, this issue needs to be addressed. The Motorsport community has suffered enough. I call on all car enthusiasts and drag racers of South Australia and Australia to band together to enforce the need here for a State Drag Racing facility. I've been to the AIR website and the track is still under construction,
 it was supposed to be ready back in March. What excuse will they come up with next! I'm pretty sure the 22km 4 lane Northern Expressway will be completed before AIR's track is finally resurfaced & ready for drag racing. Apparently there is a nice little setup near Murray Bridge that Mitsubishi want to get rid of which has all the offroad trackwork motor sports entusiasts could want. I've heard the govt already uses it for police training, so if the govt bought that maybe we could all share it.

i am from whyalla and we have a 1/8th mile strip which is alright but id still go to adelaide for the big events and enter my turbo ef i am number 920
_________________ there are a few falcons in my drive way, some of them are turbo charged and some arent, some have big engines and some are small but they all have one thing in common and that is the blue oval on the front |

The government will never get involved in getting a drag strip up and running and they will make it nearly impossible to run AIR like it used too when I used to race there. They will place restrictions on noise etc that will make it hard to run a decent meet there.
Why??? Because the "hoon" laws are a great money spinner for the government; a drag strip is not.
