My best trap speed was 152 that night but with a lower ET. I also just remembered that those runs were before I got the correct speed sender gear, so I was hitting the 180k limited just before the traps (the speedo was evidently out by about 30ks!) So I guess that explains the slightly low trap speed as I had to coast over the line as it bounced off the limiter. I guess ford freak is in the same boat by holding it out in the 3rd...

But on the street the Typhoon would flog it anywhere, especialy round corners, with it being less of a lard a** in the weight dept.

Not to mention more torque, lower in the rev range.

Yeah yeah, my mistake.
I still find that hard to believe the GT-P especially would beat a Typhoon.
The GT-P's aren't really that quick, they're just too damn heavy. At least the Typhoon is a little lighter, and torque is what will get it moving along.

torque is not all that makes the car quick LOL

but yes , the typhoone has more torque down low and right upto the midd range

i would like to see someone shift gears right on max torque RPM and some one shift gears at max Horse power in ths same vehicles whether it be a 2 typhoon or 2 GTP's racing each other and see what will run quicker times and mph.

and lay some myths down to rest LOL

cheers

PS : waits for a bebate to start ?????

For a guy that used the word torque around alot I have come to the conclusion that power curve and max power are what will make a car go well. Torque and power are governed by rpm. More torque produced per rpm the bigger the power curve on turbo cars. The boost gives a fatter torque curve and therefore power curve quicker. If a turbo car lost its turbo the torque curve and power curve suffer because it cannot match the early torque delivery of forced induction.

not possitive, but im pritty sure car magazine said that the XR6T was faster than both those. im pritty sure it said the XR6T did Q-mile 13.7 standard, which makes sence, cause they're quite a bit lighter.

also, for those interesed, ford USA's SVT F150 is suppose to do q-mile in 13.2! stock!!
