Guys,

having a company XR6T - I cant do any huge mods to it (yet)
But for some quick 'bang for ya buck' mods (not too costly)
what would you suggest?
Model is a BA 2004 XR6T

Would K&N filter and bigger air intake be my best options?

Cheers,
Adz

K&N, F6 2nd intake, injectors, fuel pump, exhuast flash tune. that would be my list it would turn it into a beast. even if you just did k&n intake and a flash it would be a great improvement

ive done teh 2nd cai and k & n

Apparently getting rid of the front muffler does wonders as well - most exhaust joints can make up a whole new bolt in section

i have some docos up on ba mods also - go to the tech docs section here
http://www.fordmods.com/forums/doc_menu ... type=BA/BF

you can either buy teh replacement lower half of teh air box or you can get just the front snorkle and cut a hole
either way piss easy!

Yea cooler made a good difference, mainly to throttle response. Im just gonna run a generic tune for the meanwhile, until i get all teh parts i want then get it all custom tuned at once, gonna get injectors, valve springs, typhoon lower intake and ss widemouth intake, and remove the centre muffler before tuning.

A flash tuner isn't detectable by the company either, if you return it to stock tune.. :D

Yes it is, although most places wont care. A mate of mine is a mechanic at kloster ford here in NEwcsatle and he says the majority of fords will flash a error code if they have been flashed, even if returned to stock tune. He said there is some that for some unkown reason wont show the error though. He said the majority of the time they will fix it aswell, unless its a bent rod or blown box or someting really major. They had a xr6t come in with 350rwkw, slammed on it tits with 20s that had a suspension noise, they fixed it even though they knew it was as a result of the lowered suspension.

sweet - thanks for the info guys.

Hmm - flash tuning - might have to look into this down the track a little?

Just spent $650 on a couple of new suits for work, so the funds are a little tight right now, and got done on a red arrow - another $300 and 3 demerit points

Ill have a read of the tech doco's Nick has done and take it from there.

Cheers again tho...

Adz

fellas,

just want to see if this is the right path to go down.

If i get Typhoon air intake, K&N filter and a flash tuner - will that give me good perfomance Vs $$$ spent?

Im not looking to make my XR the quickest in S.A or anything like that, but I had a run againsed another BA XR6T the other day. we were even off the mark (maybe i was in front a litttle) but when we got to around 90km the bloke i was dragging started to pull away from me.

??? :?
