http://www.trust-power.com/03electric/f ... timer.html Got this unit, and trying to find out what the wires are, obvious that the black one with the ring terminal is the earth, but don't know which out of the other three on the main harness is 12V, ACC or ON. Or what the other 3 wires are for... Stupid instructions are in Japanese with a single english word used every now and then, there no help. |

I have the same timer as you, i have another version of the instructions which tells you the wire colours and where they go, i'll post 'em up for you tomorrow arvo!

i e-mailed the seller and he sent me PDF file of the english instructions. And I had writen down the wire colours you gave me previously - but they don't match the wire colours on the back of my ignition barrell!!!

 Okay then, umm, gee i'm not sure then lol. Lucky i told ya to check first! I hadn't even looked myself. The wire colours that i was given were from an EF Fairmont (non Ghia), but i was under the impression that EF and EL Falcons and Fairmonts had the same wire colours . I'll check it out again!

Okay, i havn't found anything out about the key barrel wire colours but as for the timer wires they are:
Main Plug: Black - Ground Red - 12v Constant Green - ON Blue - Acc Small Plug: Grey - NOT USED (This is used for automatic shifter lock-out in Japanese cars) Brown - Handbrake Purple - Speedometer |

I don't see why not, the timer shows up all real time speed and has all the quater mile timer too, which i'm pretty sure utilises a speedometer input signal.
As for the handbrake (Brown wire), in the instructions it says you have to have a handbrake sender that registers 12v with the handle DOWN, not up which makes things confusing . The only time the handbrake sender is activated is when the handle is UP

need to figure out which wire to connect for speedo too then. |

I think having the handbrake on is just a safety precaution, like, the engine will shut down if the handbrake isn't applied when you take your keys out the ignition. I'm not 100% sure on how it works, but i'll have a play around with it and see what happens.
As for the speedo wire (again, check first!  ), the Purple wire on the timer could be spliced into the speedometer wire on the back of the instrument cluster, so the fact that you have an EF Falcon (and going by what is in the tech section) means you need to find the Solid RED wire on the RIGHT HAND plug of the instrument cluster.
