I have decided to change my setup (see gallery) and run an intercooler. But now i have the delema of going back to the log or keeping the bbm? they will both have about the same amount of work involved wether i change it back or not;

Change it back to log
PRO
easyier to run the piping
CON
lot of work to convert back

Keep the BBM
PRO
dont have to change manifold
CON
Have to re-route and move alot of
stuff, and harder to route intercooler pipes

What would you guys do? is the bbm or log better for a turbo setup? if its log than why isn't more EF / EL guys going back?

the bbm manifold does a better job of evening out air flow to all cylinders, the older log style tends to fun a bit leaner on the back cylinders when used with boost. the bbm may have slightly better bottom end to

wrong! gravity and foward movement actualy can make the rear cyl run rich , dont take my word for it check out the mod the performance guys are doning to the bbm , remove the top and replace with a single plenum

dude i have tested it myself. the stock log manifolds always run leaner on 6 than the rest with boost.

yes a properly designed plenum is better, i have 1 on my car if u haven't noticed! but he is asking which stock manifold is better.

Generally if a cylinder runs leaner.. Its due to having MORE boost or pressure on that port...
Which makes it strange to have the rear cylinder lean out with older inlet. Btw its not a log manifold if it has individual runers..
It could be there's issues with fuel pulsing in fuel rail ? Or fuel pump , injectors are keeping up with power demand.. In any case if this was an issue ? A good ECU can tune around this..
On the EMS 8860 and E11V2 Haltech ECU's we have had no issues with both inlets up 280 rwkw
and 370 on C16 up to 20Lb boost on E.B manifold..
