not 100% sure on the filter kit
but with the location of charger get rid of the dizzy and switch to coil pack then u can put that where ever you want with appriate customleads if needed, could even mount on fire wall or even on drivers side tower near the overflow bottle i would also move/modify the metal heater pipe to a flexible one and run it down next to the timing cover to teh sump then back to the firewall

If you switch to coil pack.. don't you then need the crank angle sensor where the dizzy was?
I will start drain the motor in the coming week to see if the charger will fit without the filter in the way.. and start taking measurements from the rails in the engine bay to see how much space I have to play with. |

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It I can remove the oil filter and sort out the dizzy block plug which sticks out 2.5 inches out from the dizzy, the charger will fit with the BBM manifold. I just took the intake and outlet adapters off, and took it out there to test.. The oil filter only blocks the inlet pipe, so without that attached to the charger, I was able to sit it in place.. If I could move the block plug on the dizzy over to the back of the dizzy rather than the front. (be reversing the internals I guess) I will be able to get the M90 right up under the BBM and even still keep the EF/EL engine mounts. I wasn't entirely sure before, but I am now.. if I can get the dizzy block plug out of the way and pick up a remote oil filter adaptor.. I will have an M90 installed where an air compressor was fitted yesterday. very cool and almost totally stealth.. the only non stealth part of it will be the intercooler piping.. and I can hide that a bit also. It is much easier to work stuff out when the engine is sitting on the shed floor rather than in the car (which has one too obviously.) Does anyone have any ideas on the dizzy side of things? (other than changing to coil pack which would require a new engine loom and ECU etc..) rgds Frank |

where are you putting the throtle body , blow through or draw through? you will need vacum for brakes , heater etc. draw through gives vac between blower and throtle and doesnt need blow off valve

I asked about vacuum the other day and was told I didn't need anything else.... what is draw though?
I thought all I had to do was mount the blower, put on and tension the belt... run the inlet from the airbox, the outlet to the intercooler and back from the cooler to the intake manifold.. obviously I'd have to mount the bypass valve between them too. What have I missed??? (other than stuff like risng rate reg and injectors) rgds Frank |

blow through is running pressureised air through the throttle body (ie charger throttle body inlet manifold)
draw thru is (throttle body, charger, manifold.) if you run draw thru you have vacuum between the tb and the charger. that filter kit you found should do the trick if its compatible with a z9, also try www.summitracing.com as for the tfi module on the dizzy.. if you really need to you can remote mount it. theres a few mustang guys in the US that do this because of heat issues, there is only 3 wires from the module that actually go into the dizzy.. it wouldnt be hard to make up a loom and mount it elsewhere.. if you go down this route the tfi module must be mounted to some form of heatsink as they get hot. good luck, mitch

OK, think I understand..
on a supercharged VN with the charger in the V with the throttle body on to of the charger.. that would be draw though.. With the charger between the throttlebody and the air filter.. that would be blow though.. Since I'm running blow though, I won't have any issues with manifold vacuum correct? rgds Frank |

Correct. You will get enough vacuum under closed throttle to supply the brake booster and HVAC vacuum tank.
Most people I know call "draw through", "suck through"... much more evocative.

I have a heap of old Celeron CPU heatsinks.. one of them would be perfect. (even has a 12 volt fan on it if I want to keep it really cool.

OK.. .with all that I now know, I can start fabricating the bracket I'll need..
I plan to have a big steel plate that bolts to the engine block using the air con bolt holes. To that plate will be welded the spacers to correctly space and angle the supercharger (and possibly some method of giving more belt tensioning flexability), and if there is room underneath.. to hold the Air compressor in place. |

OK, I've just pulled off the TFI, and I'm ashamed I expected it to be harder than that.. (2 philips screws and 3 fixed blade terminals.. I had initially expected some sort of linkage running into the dizzy..
no problems relocating this baby... none at all. sweet.. slow but steady progress. I am an IT professional.. I have more heatsinks than I know what to do with. no hassles there.. |

Check this out, a company in the US called Jeggs just quoted me this: 1 969 1113 OIL FILTER RELOCATION KIT 49.99 49.99 1 999 H999 PACKAGE AND HANDLING 9.99 9.99 1 999 FED EX FREIGHT CHARGE 119.39 119.39 Order Total: 179.37 basically they charge $120 to ship two alloy plates and a couple of hoses to Australia.
