I was going to buy an ACL kit for my engine, but my mechanic said he didnt want to give me warranty on that part of the motor if I used it.
The previous bottom end in mine was ACL (as were the pistons) and they were all completely rooted when the motor was pulled apart at 100,000 k's...

Although I guess it is a holden... what more can I expect.

5 grand? maybe..., tuning will be from stratch again but you can do most of that on road as you know, turbo/mani 3k, intercooler/piping 800... doesnt leave much for the motor build and tuning... injs/pump too

Internal vs external... I hate internal wgates, but thats just from years of fiddling with them and trying to fix creep issues, good qual externals dont creep boost or leak or muck around... for the extra $700 or so they are worth it... dont forget bragging rights too, the turbo nuts all go wow when they see and snazzy shiny TIAL gate sitting in your bay

Hmm, think i may just go for a external, give me le-way if i decide to go crazy with it.

The tune should be about $400 after street tuning ect...

Yeah you'll get used to the power of a low boost set up pretty quickly... externals are the best way to go

"mate we can assure you that our stage 3 kit will support your power output very easy, these systems have been developed for use on both street and track use and will reach full boost by 2500 rpm and support over 500hp, another customer has fitted our stage 3 kit with standard engine , wolf 3d, injectors, fuel pump, on his first dyno tune the pulled 267 rwkw with only 14psi!!! we can supply you this system with intercooler for 3000.00 + shipping

all items are new and covered by manufacturer ,warranty for 12 months, we can also supply roller bearing kits built to suit , but price is much higher "

all i would need is a set of injectors and fuel pump which i can get for $700 the lot
Sonds a go-er!

the other thing that was said is their new twin set up for 4k....hmmm

What turbos are they using on the twin set up? A single is easier and as you know, turbos sometimes die... and will eventually need a rebuild, so one is cheaper than two down the track.

PM seton500, he's had some " fun " with his snort kit.
